WEST BOYLSTON, Mass. - The Northbridge Rams travelled to West Boylston to take on the 2022 Division Super Bowl champs for the first game of the regular season. Last season’s opener at Northbridge ended with a W. Boylston, in a 37-0 shutout. The Lions scored first, but with a failed PAT at around the 6:15 mark in the 1st quarter. Heavy downpours and lightning would interrupt the momentum of the game, sending everyone scrambling to shelter; for a 30-minute delay. After that, momentary play resumed only to incur another delay because of lightning. The Lions running game became unstoppable as they continued on with a series of touchdowns to bring it to 30 - 0 at the half. The star of the game was # 20 Connor Muldoon of W. Boylston with four touchdowns. Rams QB, Joel Lachapelle finally got Northbridge on the board with a run into the end zone, followed by a PAT to get the rams at 7. The 4th quarter started off with a Lions kick return all the way to the end zone to bring the score to 51-7. In the trailing seconds of the game Northbridge would once again put six more points on the board, bringing the game to a final score of W. Boylston 51, Northbridge 13.
