Derek Sherinian Solo Album 'The Phoenix’ - Album Inside Photo Art
I am pleased to announce that one of my photos had been selected by Derek Sherinian to be included as part of the inside album art for his 2020 solo album, ‘The Phoenix’.
My photo appears on the first page of the inside cover, two page spread. I am honored to be a tiny piece of the visual aspects of this album packaging, especially an album that contains such a high caliber of musical talent. This is my first occasion where one of my photographs have been used as part of the album packaging.
Ironically, the day that Sherinian contacted me about this photo being included with his new album, was two years to the day, that I shot the photo at the Sons of Apollo show.
The 8 song album spotlights Sherinian’s keyboard solo work, along with drummer Simon Phillips. The album is loaded with musical talent and features guest artists, that include Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Label Society), Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big, David Lee Roth, Sons of Apollo, Winery Dogs, Talas), Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (Solo, Guns N’ Roses, Sons of Apollo), Steve Vai (Solo, David Lee Roth, Whitesnake), Joe Bonamassa and many more.
Derek Sherinian, a solo keyboard artist, has toured and recorded with Alice Cooper, Billy Idol, Yngwie Malmstein, Steve Vai and Joe Bomonossa. Sherinian was also a member of Dream Theatre and most recently as a founding member of the supergroup, Sons of Apollo and Black Country Communion and Planet X.
